I like the canisters, I just wish the lids would stay sealed. It's almost as if the gasket is too big for the can, the lid just keeps popping back up (no matter how many times you try to get it to stay down) so you never really get an airtight seal on it. Also, you cannot fit a full bag of flour/sugar in the large canister. Last, as with all things stainless, there are endless fingerprints to deal with. I'm happy I have them, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I purchased this Calphalon canister set about a week ago and I have been thoroughly pleased with the set since receiving it. I love the brushed aluminum finish, the glass lids, and the incredibly tight seal, which is very important to me. I have a canister set made by Polder, which is also quite nice, and I've been using that set for the past few years, but the canister from that set that I used to store my sugar in has a seal that just won't stay sealed, no matter what I tried.

The seals on these Calphalon canisters are amazing. I wondered how good the seals would be, as I've read many mixed reviews about the seals not only on Amazon.com but also on other web sites. However, knowing that Calphalon makes high quality products, I took a chance on these, and I'm glad I did, as the seals on all 3 canisters in the Calphalon set work perfectly and retain their seals. Plus, I like the oval shape of the canisters as opposed to the normal round shaped canisters from other manufacturers.

If you're looking for a canister set with a strong, tight seal, look no further. I had actually considered a similar set made by All-Clad, but they're almost double the price. For around $60, this set is a great value.

I read all the previous reviews and decided this was the set for me. The brushed stainless looks great with my appliances and dark countertops. The lids have a nice tight seal. You have to use care when opening them, but I've never had any 'accidents' as one reviewer reported. The oval shape is especially nice as it gives you more options when placing them on the counter.
